Yes many of us don’t realize how bad sitting at a computer all day is for our health. I hope to eventually get a stand up desk that I can alternate between to relieve some of those long hours sitting down. Plus it’s always a good idea to fit some exercise into your daily routine. You don’t want to sacrifice your health for your business.

Jeremy, I actually saw a plan for a treadmill desk in a computer mag in the past year or so. It’s a standing desk with a treadmill affixed where the user stands. Cool!

I am speding a lot of hours in front of the Pc monitor and yes, its not good for my health so i am trying now to go GYM regulary and keep me body in good form. Will read more about Nopalea and try to implement it in my daily menu.

Allison that is hilarious! Do you have the link of that desk? I’m using a big rubber ball. I do crunches when I’m sitting and I have a dumb bells below the table.

Alison , Indeed you drew my attention towards this health issue! We all are getting so mixed up with our work that we don’t get the time to think about our health and hence in this situation it’s very difficult to think and plan! I feel like I have adjust my sitting , on every 30 minutes I should walk for 5 minutes from my desk!

This is a freaking cactus used as part of a Mexican diet. is the plant a rare type of cactus? It is probably cheaper to move to Mexico and live there than trying to ordering this product every month to save your health.

What a lovely post Alison, thanks for sharing this. I personally sit 40+/- hours a week at the desk. But to compromise that a little bit, I go to the gym 2 times a week.

I try and stand up as much as possible and I’ve certainly noticed the benefits for both body and mind. It sounds odd but I feel like I can focus better when stood up. I sit down for short periods throughout the day but would never go back to sitting down as much as I did this time last year (which was probably on average around 11 hours a day)

I think health issues is one of the most important drawback that a person working form home can face as he/she tends to ignore taking care of his/her health. Its important to give some time to your health too because the healthier you are the wealthier you will be.
